✋⛵️ Getting a handle on Single Handing

Over the past week I've finally been able to get out on the sailboat a few times. I've slept on it twice, and I've been able to do both some motoring as well as some actual sailing. It's getting more comfortable to do things like mooring, but it's still all very new and exciting. Sometimes a little scary, but it's helping me re-learn how to believe in myself and trust that success is not only possible but within my control.

Things that are working great on the boat:

  1. The motor
  2. The mainsail
  3. The interior 33" berth
  4. Storage!

Stuff that still needs work:

  1. Nav lights
  2. The entire electrical system
  3. Fishfinder transducer mounts
  4. The jib

Overall I am thrilled, over the moon and absolutely smitten with this yacht. Don't call it a boat! It's a 1976 Pearson Yacht and I smile a gigantic grin ear from ear every time I say that.

The weather isn't great right now so I'm stuck inside. Which is a good thing, because for the past month or two I've been ignoring everything and working really hard to get the boat ready. It's been the best therapy imaginable.

Now when life gets challenging, I just remember: Tranquilo.
